Indian film director and screenwriter Ritesh Batra is behind a number of short films including Café Regular, Cairo and Gareeb Nawaz's Taxi which have screened at international film festivals to critical acclaim.

He premiered his debut feature film The Lunchbox at the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival and won the Grand Rail d'Or Award. Set to screen at the London Film Festival in September 2013, it's the only Indian film to feature on the festival's Official Competition shortlist.
